Scottish Energy Efficiency is Scotland's dedicated solar inverter replacement and fault-code diagnosis service. We help homeowners across Scotland whose solar systems have developed faults or whose inverters have reached end of life — typically 10 to 15 years after installation.

We install through MCS-certified partners. Scottish Energy Efficiency is not itself MCS certified or Gas Safe registered. We are not tied to any single inverter manufacturer.

Scottish Energy Efficiency is a trading name of Scot Energy Efficiency Ltd, company number 17408629, registered office 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA.

We are not tied to any single inverter manufacturer. Our advice is honest: if your inverter can be repaired, we will tell you. If replacement makes more sense — and especially if a hybrid upgrade could add battery storage to your existing panels — we will explain the options and the costs.

Honest advice first

Not every fault needs a new inverter. Some codes point to a grid voltage issue, a tripped isolator or a loose connection that can be put right quickly. Where a replacement is the right answer, we explain the choice between a like-for-like inverter and a battery-ready hybrid, so you can decide what suits your home and plans.

Why we focus on inverters

Thousands of Scottish homes fitted solar panels during the Feed-in Tariff years. The panels usually keep going for decades, but the inverter that converts their power for your home normally has a much shorter life. When it fails, the panels stop paying their way. We specialise in getting those systems working again with clear advice and no pressure.

We know the housing across Scotland: sandstone tenements, granite terraces, harled semis, new-build estates and rural crofts. We also know the weather that tests equipment in lofts and garages. That local knowledge shapes the advice we give and the equipment we recommend.

How we work

We diagnose the fault first, tell you honestly whether repair or replacement makes more sense, and give a written quote before any work is booked. We install through MCS-certified partners, and we handle the DNO notification with SP Energy Networks or Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, depending on where you live.
